Visitors Terrace / Gileppe Dam

brief description:

It is rather difficult, at first sight, to define or categorise this peculiar building. Its modern architectural style stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding scenery. Built into the steep hillside, the visitors terrace offers a magnificent view of the Gileppe dam and across the landscape. From the upper part, which is kept open, stairs lead to the lower part of the terrace, which is enclosed with glass walls. The concrete construction with its overhanging roof powerfully protruding out over the facade has a futuristic feel to it. Amidst the natural, unspoilt surroundings, the terrace clear and simple design and structure have an archaic character.
