De Faultrier Family Mansion in Vaux

pictures

description

brief description:

part of the house, which dates back to the Middle Ages (or, more precisely, to the time of the reign of King Francis 1st), extends in an arc across a narrow street. You can find an artfully designed exterior staircase in the picturesque interior court. Baron de Faultrier, gentleman in ordinary of Napoleon, detained an Egyptian woman prisoner in his house, which he had furnished with oriental pieces. The present owners chose to decorate the house in the same beautiful oriental style even though, in the beginning, they were unaware of its history
