Eicherts rock cave in Oberwürzbach

brief description:

off the beaten track of civilisation, tucked away at the foot of the Farrenberg mesa in Oberwürzbach, you will stumble upon mysterious Eicherts rock. Researchers assume that this bizarre rock formation provided our stone age ancestors with a hiding place and served as winter shelter from the elements. Relics from time immemorial were found in the small caves, e.g. a grinding stone made of basalt lava with slivers of flint and raddle. Explorations into the cave are strongly discouraged. Through a forest aisle, Eicherts rock offers a wonderful view of the fish ponds and the quaint fishing lodge at the bottom of the valley
