Office Building Lichtenbusch

brief description:

This 1950s office building can be found at the former German-Belgian border checkpoint, on highway A44/E Aix-la-Chapelle/Liège. The elongated one-storey building which used to house logistics enterprises and businesses stands behind a rest area. In the course of the expansion of the European Union, as the demand for border checkpoints and services diminished, the building saw more and more tenants leave. Today, it is almost entirely vacant. Only a few businesses have kept their offices here. All offices are directly accessible from the outside, the ones on the first floor via a covered access balcony. They all have washrooms and kitchen corners, some are functionally furnished. With its pastel-coloured 1950s exterior, the building's architectural style and structure is somewhat reminiscent of an old-fashioned motel. From the main glass facade in the middle of the building a staircase on either side leads to the first floor. Ample parking available, optimum infrastructure in place. Rest area with Etap Hotel and restaurants directly across from the building.
