Roman Park Dillingen-Pachten

pictures

description

brief description:

the park, a discovery area which illustrates the Roman past of the region, is affiliated with the Museum of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology in Pachten. The reconstruction of a Roman fort, a historic fire brigade station and a playground have been integrated in the grounds. There is also a Siegfried Line bunker around which the original stones of a Gallo-Roman cult theatre have been arranged as benches. A path has been built according to ancient Roman style to link the discovery area with other sites, such as, for example, an ecological lake.
