description

brief description:

the history of Sanem Castle dates back to the 13th century. Originally a typical medieval fortification complete with moat and keep, it was damaged and partly destroyed several times before it was rebuilt and transformed into the château we know today. Victor de Tornaco, prime minister of Luxembourg in 1860, was one of its most noteworthy occupants. The building was also used as an orphanage and children's home. Today, Sanem Castle is the property of the State of Luxembourg.
