Village of Vaux

pictures

description

brief description:

Vaux, situated near Metz, has a population of about 850 people. The village, which is surrounded by woods and vineyards, was first mentioned during Roman times. It used to be enclosed by a battlement wall, of which hardly any remains are left to see today. However, two of the five gates which pierced the battlement wall are still in existence, as are many historic buildings from different epochs, which can be admired in the village. Another particularity of Vaux are its numerous narrow little alleyways, framed by ancient walls
